Animei

Terms of Use

Last updated October 29, 2026

The short version

  • Animei is free and in beta: it can change, and it may sometimes be unavailable.
  • You must be at least 13, and use only accounts that are yours.
  • What you write is yours; you let us show it on your profile and share cards.
  • Be decent: no impersonation, hate, harassment, illegal or harmful content.
  • You can delete your account at any time.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Eren Kaspar, the independent developer in Türkiye who runs Animei (“we”, “us”). They apply when you use animei.me. By creating a profile you accept them; if you don't agree, please don't sign up. How we handle personal data is explained in the Privacy Policy.

2. The service

Animei turns your public MyAnimeList or AniList list into a profile page and share card. It is free and in beta. We may add, change or remove features, limit the number of sign-ups (with a waitlist), and we can't promise it will always be available, fast or error-free. If we ever decide to shut Animei down, we'll announce it on the site in advance where we reasonably can.

3. Who can use Animei

  • You must be at least 13 years old.
  • If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf.
  • You may not use Animei if the law, or an earlier ban from us, forbids it.

4. Your account

  • You sign in with MyAnimeList, AniList or Discord. Use only accounts that belong to you. Their own terms continue to apply to those accounts.
  • You're responsible for what happens through your account. Keep your linked accounts secure, and sign out on shared devices.
  • One person, one profile. Don't create profiles for others or trade them.

5. Your address

Addresses (animei.me/you) are first come, first served, and you can change yours once every 14 days. After a change, the old address redirects to the new one and is held for 14 days before others can take it. An address doesn't become your property: we may change or reclaim one that breaks these terms, impersonates someone, infringes a name or trademark, or is needed to fix an error, and we'll tell you when we do.

6. Your content

You own what you add to Animei: your bio, links and the choices you make. You give us a worldwide, free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, copy, display and adapt it (for example, resize it for a share card) only to run and show your profile, share card and link previews. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others have already shared (such as a downloaded card) and short-lived caches. You confirm you have the right to post what you add, and that it doesn't break these terms or the law.

7. Rules

Don't use Animei to:

  • pretend to be another person, creator or brand, including through your address or picture;
  • post hateful, harassing, threatening, violent or sexually explicit content;
  • post anything involving the sexual exploitation of minors (we report it to the authorities);
  • share other people's personal information without their consent;
  • link to malware, phishing, scams or illegal content;
  • infringe copyrights, trademarks or other rights;
  • spam, scrape or use automated access (except search engines and link previews), overload the site, probe it for weaknesses or get around its limits;
  • misuse reports or feedback, for example to harass someone;
  • break any law or anyone else's rights.

8. Reports and moderation

Anyone signed in can report a profile with “Report this profile” at the bottom of it, and anyone can write to hello@animei.me. We don't monitor all content in advance, but when we learn about content that breaks these terms or the law, including through a notice under Türkiye's Law No. 5651 on internet publications, we act promptly. Depending on how serious it is, we may hide or remove content, change an address, or suspend or close an account, where possible after telling you why. If you think we got it wrong, write to us and we'll look at it again.

9. Other services and content

Lists come from MyAnimeList or AniList, and character data and artwork from AniList. Animei is not affiliated with or endorsed by MyAnimeList, AniList or Discord. Anime titles, artwork and character images belong to their respective rights holders and are shown for identification. If you hold the rights to something shown on Animei and want it removed, write to hello@animei.me with what it is, where it appears and how we can reach you. We aren't responsible for those services or for outages on their side.

10. Our rights

The Animei name, logo, design and code belong to us. You may use the site and share your profile and card as intended, but not copy or reuse the service itself. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely, without any obligation to you.

11. No warranty

Animei is a free service provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranties, including about accuracy (your stats depend on the list source), availability or fitness for a particular purpose.

12. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data or profits, or for losses caused by other services, by your content, or by Animei being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent or gross negligence (Turkish Code of Obligations art. 115), or your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.

13. Ending

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or if the law requires it. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as 9 to 12 and 15) still apply afterwards.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Animei changes. We'll change the date at the top, and for important changes we'll tell members on the site before they take effect. If you keep using Animei after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can delete your account.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Disputes go to the courts and enforcement offices that have jurisdiction under Turkish law; consumers may also use consumer arbitration committees and consumer courts where the law allows. If you live in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country and can bring a claim there. Please write to us first: most problems are easier to solve directly.

16. General

If part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a right straight away, we don't give it up. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Animei.
